Tournament Champs!

5 games played + 5 games won = a first place trophy! The Bombers, the 11 year old traveling baseball team Matthew plays on won 1st place this weekend in Stillwater. The boys played extremely well on both Saturday and Sunday and made it to the championship game late Sunday afternoon. After some controversy with the other team and the umpire, the Stillwater Thunder forfeited the game to us and we won the championship. It wasn't how we wanted to win the game but that is what happened. I'm sure the boys would have beat them again if we would have finished the game.

Mason got some exciting news this weekend also...He was asked to play with a 6U traveling team out of Mustang, OK in a tournament in Wichita Falls, TX in May. I didn't quite think that Mason would travel this early in his baseball career but it looks to be a fun weekend for him and his dad. I will be staying with Matthew that weekend and watching him play in another tournament.

Pretty sure the Thunder would have won the tournament since we were up 5 to nothing in the first inning. Our team forfeited for a wrong call punishing a player for no reason. Our coaches would have asked to keep playing if this had happened to your team. We would have stood up for your players. However, I understand the circumstances and wanting your boys to win first. Ever since this unfortunate incident, we have been waiting to play the Bombers again, but we haven't seen you sign up for any tournament we have played in..i.e. the Wooden Bat tournament...you played in it last year. Anyway, no hard feelings but we wish could see you in another tournament so we can see which is the better team...or please let us know where you will be playing and we'll meet you on the field. Your kids are a great ball club...but their win in Stillwater was not a true win. We taught our kids the team is more important than a wrong call or a win, which we are sure we could have done with 8 players. What did your kids learn?
