Tailgating...OSU/OU

The weekend after Thanksgiving I went down to Stillwater, OK to tailgate with some friends of ours from High School. We didn't go to the game but it was fun to get to hang out with my friends and we had a great time.

Baker Thanksgiving

We went to my Aunt Cindy and Uncle Terry's for Thanksgiving in Carmen, OK this year. We had a good time and the kids were glad to have their cousins to play with.

Grandparents Day

First Lutheran School Grandparents Day was held the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and Mimi came over to be with the kids and go to their program. Mason made a few things for Mimi in his class and we all went to lunch after the program. Thanks Mimi for coming over and being with the kids!

Matthew's First Dance

Matthew had his first ever boy/girl dance last night at First Lutheran. It was a dance for all 6, 7, and 8th graders. He went with his girlfriend Emilee Baker. Matthew had a stomach virus for a couple of days before the dance but managed to be feeling better last night to go to the dance. He still looks a little sick to me but I think he had a great time. It was very weird watching him get ready and take pictures and all of that stuff before the dance. I cannot believe he is already old enough for all of that.

Halloween

Mason was the grave reaper for Halloween this year. He was pretty scary but the cutest grave reaper I have ever seen. He scared the death out a couple of old ladies that were not expecting him at the door when he came up. It was funny. We took Mason to a few different places to trick or treat and then we took him and Matthew and 2 of Matthew's friends, Dalton and Kyle over to the haunted barn in Tonkawa. The older boys were the only one's who ended up going through - Mason lost his nerve a the last minute so Danny and I stayed out with him.

Dad is 32!

Danny turned 32 on October 29th and the boys and I decorated him his own cake. We had his favorite thing for dinner which is if you already didn't know...ribeye, potatoes, rice and bread. I think he had a pretty good day.

Pumpkin Carving

The boys and their Dad carved pumpkins this afternoon out on the back porch. With Halloween just a couple of weeks away the boys are looking forward to haunted houses and trick or treating.

Ali Grace Murphy

My sister and her husband Chris welcomed a new baby girl on Thursday. Her name is Ali Grace Murphy and she weighed 6lbs and 7oz. She is teeny tiny and just adorable. Matthew and Mason could not get enough of her and hated to have to leave to come home.

Fall State

The Bombers played in the Fall State Tournament this past weekend in Edmond, OK. The boys played great and ended up getting 2nd place. We were all really proud of them for playing so well since we haven't played together since June and also we moved up in age group for this tournament so we did really well. I did not get any pictures - my camera was not cooperating with me.

Nothing else much is going on with us - they boys both finish playing fall baseball next week and then we have fall break which I know they are both looking forward to. I can't believe that 9 weeks of the year is already almost over for the boys I just don't know where the time goes.

We are looking forward to traveling to Arkansas next week to meet our new niece and baby girl cousin. Hope everyone is doing great!

Baby Estella

My younger sister Misti and her husband Morgan had their first baby yesterday. Her name is Estella Irene Carmichael and she is precious. She was 8lbs. 4oz. and was 19.5 inches long. The boys told me that it was my turn to have another baby since Aunt Misti and Aunt Christy are both having one. I of course said no way!!

Go Huskers!

We surprised the boys with a trip to Nebraska this weekend to watch the Nebraska vs. San Jose State game. We woke the boys up on Friday morning and instead of going to school we left for Nebraska. We stayed downtown at a hotel a couple of blocks away from the stadium and walked around downtown and did some Husker's shopping. It was a beautiful day for a football game and we were only rained on for a couple of minutes. I just had to stop and take some pictures of the HUGE sunflower field that we drove past. They were amazing! Oh and about that sling Matthew is wearing, we thought he may have broken his arm skateboarding the night before we were to leave for Nebraska so we spent some time at the ER where they x-rayed his elbow and found nothing broken just bruised or as Mason likes to say "a contusion" which is the word the doc used. He is still a little sore but doing much better. The skateboard has taken a vacation.

First Day of School 2008

I'm only a month late at putting these photos up geez! :) The boys started back to school on August 13 and seem to be doing just great. Both of the boys are at First Lutheran this year which has made it a lot easier getting them to and from school. Matthew started the 6th grade which is middle school (oh my!) and Mason started 1st grade. Wow how the time flies.

Arkansas and Kansas City

After Mason's birthday party the boys went back to Arkansas with Mimi and Papa. The boys had fun going to the movies, bowling and shopping. They also went to a baseball game to watch the minor-league team The Nationals which is in Springdale. Thanks for having the boys for a few days!

I drove over to Arkansas and picked the boys up and we went on to Kansas City to visit Grandpa Larry and Grandma Jill. Dad and I took the boys to a Kansas City Royals game and grandpa and grandma took them swimming and to ride go-carts. They sent me some good pics of them riding go-carts but I couldn't get them to save correctly. I am still trying to figure this whole Mac thing out. Thanks for the pictures! Thank you to Dad and Jill for also keeping the boys for me while I went to Lawrence to
Misti's baby shower.

Mason is finally 6!

Mason could not wait for his birthday to get here. Everyday he would mark off the day on his calendar and then add up the days until he turned 6. He said it took forever to finally get here. We had a great time and had most of our families here to celebrate with us. We appreciate everyone coming and I know Mason had a great day!

4th of July

We traveled to Sulphur, OK this weekend to spend 4th of July with the Williams family. Danny's sister Julie and her family have us each year for the 4th and the kids have the best time. They live out in the country and have a pool, 4-wheelers, a trampoline and everything else you can have in the country. I didn't see Mason much at all this weekend he was so busy playing and having fun. We were glad to see Danny's parents and his sister Megan who is on summer vacation from West Point. We all love the 4th of July.

Ponca City Bombers - 2008 11 AA State Champions!!

Matthew's traveling baseball team The Bombers won the 11 AA State Championship last weekend in Edmond. We were supposed to start the tournament Friday night and run through Sat. and Sun. but Edmond received a big amount of rain so we did not start the tournament until 1pm on Sunday. We had to play 4 games on Sunday and with the rain delays we ended up finishing our 4th game at 2:09 a.m.! I think we got to bed that morning somewhere around 4 a.m. The next day on Monday the boys had to win all three of their games and that included beating the Edmond Cubs twice since they were unbeaten. Our boys did awesome and won the championship! What a great way to end our season! Mason didn't make it through the last game of the day as you can see.
